Persuant to comments at Commons:Help_desk#How_is_my_photo_shown_as_non-copyright_? that the GODL license is not necessarily applicable to certain images provided by the "Press Information Bureau", these images are not necessarily license compatible with Commons.

Discussion[edit]

  • Too many files to invdividually nominate.

@ShakespeareFan00: , I would like to understand your urgency in nominating roughly 70k to 80k files (by my fast rough calcualtion) for deletion based on a single IP's objection over a single file. These files have been at Commons for years now without any issue. They are some of the most important photos published by the Indian Government and are used by 1000's of wikipedia pages. I believe the IP's coneren is wrong and a wrong reading of the laws allowing for open distribution of these public images. (I am going though them to understand it better and will then present my arguments). You could atleast wait till the deletion of that single file was over and other users had presented their arguments. Roller26 (talk) 15:31, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Withdrawn per a "snowball clause", all the comments so far have been opposed. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 22:45, 14 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
