Please sign your postings[edit]
As a courtesy to other editors, it is Commons:Signatures policy to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, deletion requests, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then automatically be added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). Thank you.

Please use JPGs instead of PNG whenever possible[edit]
Hi, I noticed that most of your uploads are screenshots of other images. For the sake of quality, would you consider uploading JPEGs instead? Uploading Flickr photos is easy with Upload Wizard and Commons:CropTool lets you trim it down to the size you want. Going from JPEG to PNG diminishes the quality a lot, and JPEGs load quicker on Wikipedia than PNGs. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! Ytoyoda (talk) 14:07, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

- File:PeterFranchot.png, File:KellySchulz.png, File:MarcoLopez.png, File:BarbaraShariefCrop.png, File:BeckyEdwardsCrop.png, File:LorenaGonzalezCrop.png and File:Val Arkoosh Crop.png are all screenshots of Flickr photos (or you converted the JPEGs into PNGs?). I don't think there's a compelling reason to convert JPEG photos into PNGs, especially since we have intuitive tools for doing the crops and not diminishing the image resolution. And this is probably a good opportunity to ask you to make sure to categorize images you upload and if you've cropped existing Commons photos, link back to the original using the {{Extracted from}} template (both tasks would be automated if you use CropTool). youtube is not free images and your screengrabs are awful[edit]
Please stop uploading images you extract from youtube videos. Youtube videos are not usually free media, in fact almost certainly are not free unless explicitly stated, and your screengrabs are, frankly, of extremely poor quality. - Ok, I do see that Onion River Community Access freely licenses their videos, but I feel there is still a moral/ethical obligation to the living persons depicted in these images. These people were not posing for a headshot, they are clearly in a teleconference, and for whatever reason your screengrabs are blurry and seem to only show unpleasant facial expressions. I'm concerned.
Most of the following look like instances where you applied speedy deletion tags to images. You applied one to File:Dr._Luis_Daniel_Muñoz.jpg. I agree, it is a questionable image. I reverted your edit because another contributor had already initiated a full deletion discssion.
I changed your speedy deletion to a full deletion discussion for File:Paul Nichols Headshot.jpg. I think you were reckless, there.
In the following edits you did not provide a meaningful edit summary. The only effect of forcing me to go through deletion discussion is that the file will never get deleted, because nobody ever participates in deletion discussions on Commons. - The no-permission template is for cases where someone uploads a file and says that someone else took the photo (by putting some other name in the author field, or linking to some vague source website) without any evidence of that person having used that licence. It's not for when someone uploads a photo claiming that it's their own work. It's not asking for "some kind of proof that they are the creator".
- Mileage certainly varies on deletion discussions, but an admin looking at your expired "no permission since" addition to the process seven days from now will not be able to do anything with that. --Belbury (talk) 21:23, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
- Belbury It absolutely does ask for proof that they are the creator. I have literally tried getting images approved through the VRT process and had them rejected due to insufficient evidence that the person sending the email was the creator of the file. If the uploader did not actually create the image, they would not be able to get it cleared through the VRT process, and thus the no-permission tag could not be removed.
- Furthermore, I have gotten numerous images falsely tagged as "own work" deleted through the no-permission process. Every time, an admin found the page, saw that the "no permission since" template was expired, and deleted the image. So your claim is demonstrably wrong.
